lambda nordica is a peer-reviewed open-access academic journal of LGBTQ studies. The oldest of its kind in the Nordic region, the journal is dedicated to interdisciplinary research in lesbian/gay/bi/trans* and queer studies.
Author Guidelines
Authors are welcome to submit a manuscript to lambda nordica. Special guidelines for book reviewers are found here. All article manuscripts are submitted to double-blind peer review. Your submission to lambda nordica cannot be under consideration by any other journal or part of a book currently in press. Please see our Editorial Policies for further information.
Manuscripts
All submissions should be made via the online submission portal. We kindly ask you to use this template when putting your manuscript together. All manuscripts should contain an abstract (English or Nordic language, max. 250 words), a short author bio (max. 150 words) and around five keywords.
No tables, figures and legends should be uploaded separately. Instead, authors must provide a complete manuscript file, with all tables, figures, legends and supplementary material (if applicable) placed at the end of the manuscript, following the references. Authors are informed that the journal is not responsible, unless otherwise agreed, for negotiating or financing royalties relating to third-party images.
Length and Language
An article preferably comprises between 6,000 and 8,000 words including notes and references. Accepted languages are Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and English. If reviewers find that a manuscript needs language editing in order to be accepted, this is the responsibility of the author. For articles in the English language, the editors may request a summary (about one page), which they will translate into Swedish. Please see the Chicago Manual of Style for further instructions.
References
References are given according to the Author-Date system of the Chicago Manual of Style, see the “Author-Date” tab of the online version.
Proofreading
After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, the editors may still do minor edits of the manuscript. The author (or one of the authors) will be notified of such alterations and is expected to respond and approve in a timely manner.
